Every major series to look out for on the 2022 slate

The 2022 Summer anime slate is finally here, but which series should you look out for and when are they set to release worldwide?

The start of a new anime broadcasting slate can be a rather confusing one as fans struggle to find solid information about the new shows and when they will actually premiere.

Thankfully, MyAnimeList and Crunchyroll have now provided a detailed breakdown of the top series to look out for. Fans should note that Crunchyroll has not yet publicly confirmed the release dates for all of the following anime series that are set to feature on the 2022 Summer slate.

In most cases, the series will premiere for international audiences either on the described dates or one day before due to time differences with domestic TV networks in Japan – so which shows you should bookmark for the 2022 Summer slate?  

The Devil is a Part-Timer season 2 (Hataraku Maou-sama!!)

The second season of Studio 3Hz’s (Healer Girl) supernatural rom-com adaptation is set to premiere on Thursday, July 14th.

Rent-A-Girlfriend season 2 (Kanojo, Okarishimasu)

The second season of TMS Entertainment’s (Lupin the Third) hit romantic comedy anime premieres on Friday, July 1st.

Overlord season 4

The fourth season of Madhouse’s (Hunter x Hunter) iconic Isekei series premieres on Tuesday, July 5th.

Made in Abyss season 2 (Made in Abyss: Retsujitsu no Ougonkyou)

The second season of Kinema Citrus’ (The Rising of the Shield Hero) dark fantasy adventure series, titled ‘The Golden City of the Scorching Sun’ will premiere on Wednesday, July 6th.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon season 4 (DanMachi)

The fourth season of J.C. Staff’s (Food Wars) Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon is scheduled for Saturday, July 23rd.

Call of the Night (Yofukashi no Uta)

The latest series from Liden Films (Tokyo Revengers) centres around vampire romance and premieres on Friday, July 8th.

My Stepmom’s Daughter is my Ex (Mamahaha no Tsurego ga Motokano datta)

From Project No 9 (Love After World Domination), this new slice-of-life romantic comedy series will release on Wednesday, July 6th.

Classroom of the Elite season 2 (Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e)

The second season of Studio Lerche’s (Given) iconic psychological school adventure debuts on Monday, July 4th.

When Will Ayumu Make His Move? (Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru)

This is a new slice-of-life comedy series from Silver Link (The Misfit of Demon King Academy) releases on Friday, July 8th.

Shadows House season 2

The second season of the fantastic mystery drama from CloverWorks (Spy x Family) is set to debut on Saturday, July 9th.

Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World (Isekai Meikyuu de Harem wo)

The latest harem Isekei series from Studio Passione (Mieruko-chan) is set to premiere on Wednesday, July 6th.

Lycoris Recoil

A new supernatural series from A-1 Pictures (Sword Art Online) will make its debut on July Saturday, 2nd.

Fuuto PI (Fuuto Tantei)

A new supernatural drama series from Studio Kai (Skeleton Knight in Another World) will release on Sunday, July 31st.

The Girl From the Other Side (Totsukuni no Shoujo)

This supernatural series from Wit Studio (Attack on Titan Season 1-3) will premiere this Summer but a specific date sadly remains TBA.
